Exploring Candidasa

We woke up around 8am to no blaring alarm. Finally!!! A decent night's rest! After slowly getting out of bed, we headed down to the hotel restaurant to get breakfast. LuRue was very excited to see American-style breakfast. Montana had an Eggs Benedict.

After a nice breakfast, we headed back to our room. Montana, who apparently got hired as the activities director, started looking into activities to do in Candidasa. She found many things that look fun or interesting to do. She discussed the options with LuRue before heading down to the front desk and asking them about it. It turns out we just have to tell the front desk the evening before what we want to do and they'll schedule everything. That'll be nice. We'll have no ideas what we'll be doing the next day until less than 24 hours beforehand. We scheduled a snorkeling tour for tomorrow.

We stopped by our room to make a quick stop before scouting out Candidasa. First, one of the workers took us to a beach across the street. It was a very nice beach, but not one we'd want to go swim or snorkel in.

We walked along the road for about 30 minutes trying not to get run over and looking at stores, people, and possible an ice cream shop. We kept walking until the sidewalk ended. On our walk back, we stopped in a few gift shops. Montana was looking for a skirt to wear in the humid weather. The first shop we looked in had something that looked very similar to a skirt, but was not actually a skirt. It was more like very baggy pants, except it had no crotch. The fabric went all the way to the floor, but was sewn across the bottom except for holes in each corner for the feet. The second shop did have actual skirts that fit pretty well, so Montana got one. We also stopped at a few souvenir shops to see if anything stood out to us. Some things did, but we decided we were going to go back another day. On the way back we did find a Gelato shop, which did suit our ice cream necessity. It looks like we'll be going back there a lot. We walked the other way for a bit, but didn't find anything new.

We went swimming right after getting back to the hotel. We were in the pool for about two hours. It felt nice to finally be consumed by water. We tested out LuRue's new snorkel mask, which she likes a lot, but mainly we just swam around in pure paradise!

We then headed to dinner at a place that we both found interesting, on our walk, called the Dining Room. LuRue ordered their specialty, wood fired pizza. Montana ordered some Indonesian chicken curry that contained eggs, chicken and some Indonesian food wrapped in a banana leaf. Neither of us can remember the name though. Other than our main dishes, we were brought out some nice garlic bread and an interesting yogurt drink, which LuRue liked, but Montana didn't like as much. We ended the day on some Indonesian style Créme Brûlée, which instead of having a crusty top, it had some sort of fizzy top that was almost like soda.
